HI THERE:
The other day my Budgett's frog was looking great. His pale mottled coloration was showing vividly, he was active, his eyes were large and clear and he was nice and fat. The other day it was time to change his water. I change it about twice a week. I got out my net to gently transport him. I moved some sphagnum moss over in the tank and found him below it. He slunk over to the other end of the cage and climbed up onto a piece of cork, then slipped back into the water.
I carefully tried to tip him into the soft net, but he missed and scooted next to his favorite plant. I stopped to give him a break. He walked around some more, then looked up at me and dropped dead. I checked for signs of anything wrong, and didn't find anything. He just died like that. One of my most prized specimens.
I tried to see if I could revive him, because once one of my African clawed frogs died and I revived him later, but this time it was too late. It would be like me sitting in a chair telling you this and then just dying. What do you think could have happened?
DAVE
