My leo won't eat!

7john7 Sep 13, 2004 11:17 PM

My leo has always been a great eater. She is about a year old and eats primarily crickets and meal worms. For the first 6 months she ate eagerly every day. Then, as she became an adult her eating slowed to every other day. Then about a month ago, she stopped eating. She is still active, and has a fat tail, but she has only eaten a hanndful of times and I am worried about her. She is also increasingly interested in getting out of her aquarium. She is very tame, and is held often, but she seems agitated and I am not sure what is wrong. About 3 months ago we added another female to her environment, and there have been no problems. I'm not sure if this is relevant. Please advise

well if the decreased appetite correlated with the appearance of another female then obviously yes that's the problem and to solve that problem seperate them.
Is there a size difference?

Also if you didn't quarantine the other female it may of passed all sorts of bad stuff to the other one.

That was my first thought, but she ate for a few months after adding the 2nd leo. She does not seem to be losing weight, and she is still very active. Any other thoughts?
