Chewing damage

Yikes! I would have lost 5 rats except they chewed under another tub. I guess I'll go back to the 1"X2" wooden frame tops.

Geesh! Stop giving those guys jackhammers!
Funny, none of mine chew their tubs. I did have a cage tray get chewed. But usually the only chewers I have are gerbils.....one cage of them demolished a heavy Van Ness dish. Stainless Steel for them.

Yep! I found one last week where my mice had chewed a hole large enough for them to climb out. I wouldn't have noticed but one was hanging out!

They didn't chew where I would have expected either, but rather chewed the rounded top edge. I don't know how they even got a start on that! I don't know that a wood lid would have helped either!

I'm sure I lost one of my girls but haven't seen signs of her running loose yet and although I have set traps she must be foraging well as the traps are untouched!

My gerbils just chewed the top off their water bottle.. Now I have to replace that... I've been tempted to get out of gerbils altogether... but the pinkies are perfect size for my leo gexs....and my new Savannah Monitor coming on Wednesday... He's just a baby right now..
