Python Identification

Intempesta_Nox Sep 14, 2004 07:56 AM

Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me identify this python I found in a picture. It is labeled as a Tanimbar scrub python, but I've never seen one that color. I think it almost looks more like a black phase white-lipped python, but I dont know much about either species and maybe someone else could help straighten it up for me. Thank you very much!

I agree. The head is too narrow for an adult of the amethestine group, IMHO.
Sure looks like a black-phase albertsii to me.

How about a Bolens Python?

Boelen's have a much wider head, like a carpet python. Also, they have buch thicker/taller stripes on the lips and heat pits.

This snake is definately a wlp.
Boelen's pics, not mine
