Hey I've been thinking of ways lately to utilize the hieght of my terrarium so that my skink has more room. So I thought I would build some kind of platform. As of now I really have no materials so I wil probably have to use cardboard. But It's just an I idea. I love a construction challenge so I'll se what happens. I woul;d want to use wood but !. i don't have any and 2. that would have to involve sawing and stuff so it's probabyl out of the question for a 13 year old girl. But I'm afraid using a common sdhoe box would not only look silly, it woulkd be too flimsy. Oh well I really wish I could build my lizard somthing cool. *sigh*

From what I've seen/experienced, the easiest building material both for semipermanent enclosures and furniture/climbing structures is PVC pipe (ask the folks at Home Depot/Lowes if you don't know).
You can use a length of 1/2" pipe and some elbow/90degree fittings to make whatever you like. They fit together tightly enough that it doesn't require glue and, unlike cardboard, you can clean it instead of throwing it away when it gets dirty.
Just get yourself over to the plumbing section and explain to someone what you're doing and they should be able to point out the parts you can use. Shouldn't cost you more than a few bucks and the only tool you'll really need is a small saw that they will have in that same department. Don't worry about it though, PVC pipe is way easy to cut through.
