I have read using tiles as substrate for geckos works best, but I am curious on the best ways to do it and the best kinds to use. Do you just lay them loosely and remove them to clean? Thank you for your help.

Hi, I use tile and find it very easy to clean/maintanance. Just go to Home Depot or Lowes or something and get some plastic tiles for you kitchen floor. You can pick what color you like best. Cut it to the size of your cage and lay in. Make sure you get two tiles for the warm side as the tiles get very hot if there is only one. Whenever you would like to clean it (I do 1 a week) just take it out and wipe down. Good luck. Feel free to ask any more questions.

Hi. I use tiles too. When I got mine at homedepot i had them cut it to size. I lay them loosely on the bottom so they are easy to take out and clean. I use a thermostat with T-rex heat mat but I also use a piece of reptie carpet (left over from when I switched to tile) under it. The color you pick doesn't really matter, just make sure the tile you choose isn't to slippery. The more texture it has, the easier for the leos to walk around on it. i hope this helps!

I use ceramic, the outdoors type stuff or kitchen stuff. I try to go for a rocky, nature ish look. And i just lay them on the bottom of a tank and i put paper towel in the bathroom area to make clean even easier
