Just thinking..............

sslonestar Sep 14, 2004 06:39 PM

With all the recent post being made lately about people getting bit by their beloved critters and the first chant outta the box is generally questioning Husbandary issues.
Did everyone forget about the role weather affects our critters and exactly how sensitive they are to such things?
With all the recent Hurricanes and their side effects like unstable as well as higher then normal barometer readings. Not limited to the direct paths etc but nationwide as well.
Would it be safe to say that a Herp 500 miles from an eye wall can be just as freaked out as a human strapped to a sea wall ?
You bet !! theres reports of thriving Herps like Beardies going off feed and digging in,snakes doing things without reason ?
I have a young common boa that I rescued about 4 months ago that was meaner then nine yards of you know where, after a month of proper feed and care she was daddys little baby and has been since. This last week she started burrowing again, she normally loves her hide.Last night I tried to hold her and she hissed she hissed hard and nailed me twice before I could blink,I`m like, what the ....??I went right back at her and she continued pitching a fit and bellowing like a bull.Yeah her husbandary is up to par and the queen is burrowed deep in the mulch.

Anyway..........just some thinking,it may do some of ya some good in a day or two or next hurricane season who knows ??

my snakes were all acting a little edgy lately too I figured it was due to the preasure in the air, my dogs were almost weeping like babies three days before hurricane Frances even got close. I was wondering if the preasure would maybe induce breeding , but buy thier pissy bahavior I figured I wouldn't try.
