Food Size

My king is about 10 months old, about 30 inches long and (in my opinion) still a skinny little guy. I had been feeding him 3-4 fuzzies every 4-5 days trying to get him to grow. He is a pig and always eats them with no problems. I went to the store I get the feeders at and asked if he should be eating something more like adult mice because he rips through fuzzies like crazy. They ended up giving me a small rat. He is much larger than the individual fuzzies but it doesn't seem like much of a difference from 4 fuzzies. The rat is slightly larger around than my snake is at his largest point. I am a bit reluctant to feed it to him though for fear that he won't be able to get his mouth around it. (His head is so tiny compare with the rat!) ALso, I know it it more difficult for him to digest one big thing than 4 little ones and I don't want to have a regurgitation problem. Any ideas on proper food size for him at this point? Sorry for the long post and thanks for the answers!

the size of the snake's head doesnt matter because they dislocate their jaws. however, the animal should be no bigger than the snake at its thickest point. how did they make the jump from fuzzies to a rat?? perhaps an adult mouse would be more the right size. it just depends on the thickness of the snake - my king will eat three or four pinkies, but he's only about the thickness ofm y finger so while he can take those without a problem, anything larger would be too hard to swallow.

They told me that he should have started to eat adult mice when he go to the point of eating 2-3 fuzzies. That was quite a while ago and apparently I skipped over that stage. I think I may just stick to the adult mice for now because they seem to be a more appropriate size.

Hey man , don't feed him a rat.
i have one about 20 22 inches and
i feed her a "fuzzy" twice a week
the mice are about 1and 1half the size of her
thickest part! and she eat's them like crazy!
when i feed her a few "pinkys" her poop is very runny
wich does not seem good to me and others who i've spoken
with , get your feeders online! you can get a but load for like
40 cent a piece - - big pet stores suck!
and kingsnakes don't get that big,
there is a guy on here who could help:
HEY OLDHERPER?!! where are you bro? this guy needs your expert
advice.
