How fast or what is the growth rate of a male conda...also how much does a good captive bred baby run?

I would expect a green to be around 5' at 1 year and 10' at two years. This is an approximation and a lot of things will influence how fast (or slow) they grow. I have a young male that is right on track for reaching 5' within the first year. I believe the females start to pull away from the males in size dramatically after the second year. Males can be sexually mature at 2 years and females usually around 4 years. One thing I will say is that, although a green female will eventually get bigger than the burm, the burm will outpace the same size baby conda as far as growth rates go. This is because of the condas slower metabolism.

A good CBB green will set you back around $200 shipping. It's too bad that you missed the last one from Kelly because they are some of the best around. I haven't really seen any good neonates in the classifieds lately but when I get home from work I will look around for you.

this is or course an estimate and 10 feet by year two is a bit much to ask out of a male...that is almost topped out for them. But I undertsnad Ariks post. I just think they will be a bit smaller than that but still over 6ft by year 2 for sure. I know my female will not be 10 ft by year 2. she is just over 4 ft now at 17 months. Yes she was a difficult feeder for a while but she always had a healthy build to her and never looked thin. males can very easily reach maturity in under 2 years while females are quick bloomers if they get it in 3.

Yeah you could shave a foot, or so, off the estimates I gave for a female for the males. I would place their average adult size at closer to 13' then 10' also.
Man eunectes 4' at 17 months seems really small. With some neonates approaching the 3' mark at birth that seems like a really slow growth rate. Hopefully the FT rodent diet will help out a bunch. I know you're not planning any breeding projects with your female (at least I dont think you are) so I say as long as she's healthy with good tone then who cares how fast she grows. Saves a bunch on rodents too. i.e. rabbit price compared to rat price. Has she taken another FT yet or have you tried? I would like to see if she makes up for lost time when on a completely rodent diet.

She has actually been taking Ft rodents for a while now...they have just been scented. And her biggest meals were actually when I was tieing rodents to chicks. SO she gets fed pretty well. She has great weight as well. She just seems to be a slow grower. But almost the entire first year was a roller coaster with a long first climb to the top without meals. She hasbeen moving pretty quickly now. and she was 2.5 ft at birth. I think we both took the extreme side with the male greens as I bet there are few that are 13' actually and there are many many many over 10 ft. Thinking about it, they have a pretty consistant size with little variation compared to most big snakes. are you on the net now? by the way...anyone have AIM and want to put down their sn for anaconda chats. sometimes when I am bored I try and find someone to talk about snakes and it is hard to do. anyway, howardburton7 is me.

I believe that was just over 11 ft and 65 lbs. know any chats we could go in now? I am super bored and my girlfriend is asleep...i got a bottle of jose next to my bed if you are not doing anything lol

Eunectes4 is correct. At the time of the photo, he was 11.5 feet and about 65 lbs.
