Garter Snake Babies

FLmom Sep 15, 2004 04:30 AM

My son's snake just had 19 babies. We didn't even know it was a female nor a pregnant one at that - he caught her last Wednesday. What do we do now?

Thanks....from ignorant mom who wants to help her son enjoy his snakes

I would release the babies. OR better yet, since you know that the babies have not tasted the wild side of the world, let the mom go and the babies and keep just one. Your son will be able to watch this baby grow and he will have much less chance of having probs with parasites. good luck.
