Yearling California Kingsnake not eating

woodensoul Sep 15, 2004 06:27 AM

I've had my this little snake for about a year. It was found in the parking lot of a grocery store in my town. It was obviously an escapee since I'm in Indiana. This snake was injured when I received it. It appeared to have broken bones in one spot.

It has never eaten like a baby snake should but it's going on 6 weeks since it last ate. I've fed it thawed pinkies, but the last time I was able to get it to eat the pinkies were alive. It's tail shows signs of malnutrition because of it's scarce eating habits. What can I do to save this little guy? By the way this is the meanest snake I've ever handled. As soon as I disturb it tries to strike me repeatedly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
