Freedom vs Roylance Breeder Racks

A.C. Sep 15, 2004 01:06 PM

Anyone using either of these for their drys or pits? I'm thinking of getting a 5-6 level 48" wide rack for my pits and drys. Saves me a lot of room which I have very little of.

Any pro's and cons?

thanks guys

Both companies make good racks, though I would be inclined to go with the Freedom breeder. Also, I would go with a minimum of 72" drawers, as 48" is a bit cramped for Drymarchon, or any other species reaching over 72".
I keep all of my Pituophis in 72" X 24" X 24" while all of my adult Drys in 96" X 36" X 24". The Drys are more active and I like giving them the extra space.
I know a lot of breeders who maintain their Pituophis in 48" tubs with good results.

I have some of the smaller (large and medium) FB racks and they are outstanding. However, with the mesh top, you do have be careful that the humidity in the cages doesn't get too low.

I didn't see the 72" size on either site. Are there any other pro breeder rack manufacturers out there?

ac-
also check out the boaphile plastics page, he has some combinations/full cage stacks that might work.

FB makes a 66 x 30 inch cage and an 89 x 27 inch cage, I believe. Scroll down to the bottom of their snake rack page and you will see the giant ones.

O.K.,...duh I get it. Sometimes it takes a while to sink in.
