What are the requirements to keeping a anaconda? Which one is smaller, the green or yellow? How fast do they grow??

tank with UTH with floor temps from 77-85 degrees. humidity above 50%. depending on maintentance you wish to do and the al you can use larger water tubs but you will need a bigger cage. yellow males range from 6-8 ft, yellow females from 8-12, green males from 9-13, and green females from 13-25 and all these numbers are pretty much the extreme high and low ends of adult animals.

I agree with you eunectes except for one thing. You say your numbers are the extreme high and lows for adult sizes. All but one is close. If you've read dfr's post "anyone with condas over 10 ft" ( i think that's what it was called) he has a female yellow at 4 yrs of age already 13 ft. I can say that is due to the previous owners who power fed it alot. It's probably a rarity but they may reach upto 15-16 ft. I consider those in here to be much more knowledgable on condas than me, but I do get my info from you people in here, the chatroom and those who have msn. Physignathus a.k.a. Macroclemys, CrownedOne, Steven

You are correct. I did not mean extreme highs and lows as far as something does not occur outside those ranges. I just meant they were the highs and lows of what is likely. Maybe I did understate the yellow female a touch as I am aware many break over 12 ft while my other extremes more rarely are broken. Thanks for pointing that out. I was thinking that actually when I was writing it though lol. I just didnt think it mattered to change because they could get the idea.

I believe the record size for a female yellow was between 15 and 16 feet.
