Hey everyone! As everyone knows who has read my forums,I interdused my male to my females a few weeks back!My bi mamma is looking great she has sweeling an the whole 9 yards,On the other hand my abberant female,I am very worried about her!I noticed that down further in this forum another gentleman is having the same problem!PLEASE SOMEONE WITH KNOWLEDGE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS,THATS WHY THE FORUM IS HERE CORRECT?My abberant female is showing these bb type bumps all over her body also,From about mid section down to about 8 inches above her cloaca! The vets in my town arent very knowladgeable so I am getting no help their,But what has me worried is one vet said that these bumps could be do to stress an if they didnt go away I was to bring her in!Heck I dont know what they are,one minute they are all over her an the next most of them have disappeared,Could she be too young, are they caused by stress,is it egg folicles,is it sperm like someone mentioned below,Should I keep my male away from her?I understand their is different sights about breeding, but none of them talk about anything like this happening!!!!!!!I am just worried about her she is the nicest boa i have an I dont want anything to happen to her!!!Any help would be deeply appriciated! Thanks Eric![Hypoboa]

I've seen these funny bumps before on my females during this time of courting(sometimes). I've never seen any ill affects. I'm not sure what it is. I know that the females are going thru alot of chemical/hormonal changes at this stage, so I figure that it's all part of it. Is this before/after, or during a shed? Is she having swelling? Take notes for the future. --- D

No she has not went into shed yet!I pulled the male out 2 days ago an she reluctantly ate a small rat yesterday! But I went ahead an reinterduced him to her tonight an he is all over her,but she acts as if she dont want nothing to do with him shes moving all over her tank an he is chasing her down,I hope she dont get mad an kill him,Isnt this stressfull?Could she already be gravid? Thanks for answering my post! Thanks for any an all help! Thanks Eric[Hypoboa]

stress if you are near any of these damn hurricane paths, the preasure they are produceing in the atmosphere could be having an effect on the snakes and maybe when being bred they feel they aught not to be? there was a discussion about hurricane effects below, I know all my animals were wierded out for a couple of days before the hurricanes came and now they are still acting a little weird.

take care.

I don't think that your female is gravid yet. I may be wrong, but in my collection my males lose all interest in breeding a little bit before the female ovulates (about a week). That's when I start looking for her to really swell up in one spot. Then to confirm that she ovulated (in case I missed it), she'll go into her shed cycle. I leave my males in up to this point (not that I need to), and they never show anymore interest. Try and take a pic of these bebe's if you can. Are they all over, or mostly on her sides?

Thanks again for answering my questions!Sry I dont have a camera to post pics,I got my pics before because I rented one for a month! But the bb's or whatever they may be called are only located on the sides!mid ways down her sides to about a foot an half up from her vent!An as far as my male goes he is going against everything I have read an learned hes a crazy breeder,he dont care if your watching if its day night or what you put him in an he goes to work!An they tore the heck out of the tank last night knocked the water bowl over ripped the news paper up,ripped humidity gage off the side of the tank,he wanted to breed an she didnt want to at all,he chased her all over the tank!So I pulled him out an cleaned the tank!An she is staying over on the heat mat, thats why I asked if she may be gravid already! But if you all feel shes not then I can put him back in,I am new to this,an I felt this was very strange behavior!I live in paducah ky,I dont think the hurricane is affecting my animals, all I got was a little rain from the last two! Thanks for any an all help!Eric[Hypoboa]
