Ok, well in the past i have had bal pythons and corn snakes so I am not that much of a beginner.....As for now until my snake gets 5' he will live in a cage 48"x12"x18".....he is only 22" now....There is a human heat pad under it covering half the tank bringing hot floor temps of 92...the cool side is around 80...there are 2 hides one on each side and a good size water dish....At night the pad is shut off and the whole cage drops to aroound 78 and all lights r shut off in my room....He will be fed 1 mouse every 5 days until 30" then he will be fed ! large mouse every 5 days...at 3' he will get a large mous every 3 or 4 days im not sure....At 42" HE WILL START ON small rats...by 6 1/2 ' he starts rabbits......i can easily afford this because he only 1 week on rats....i might breed a good supply of rats on dog food im not sure yet though....When hes 5 ' i will get him a good size cage heated with heat tape i will either build it myself or buy 1 with heat tape built into it from the net....Now is there nething wrong with this because beleive me the past 2 weeks has been nothing but research...actually ive wanted a burm since i was 12 so the past 4 years has been all research...

Regardless of how many times you retype your set-up it still has major flaws and you are not going to get the approval of any of the experienced people here. All you are showing is your careless attitude and your inability to see a better more proper way. You are "god" to this snake and it is your responsibility to ensure tha he is taken care of by simulating its natural environment ot the best of your ability. You are not doing that. You asked for advice and when it was given you blew it off and said (paraphrasing)"I hear you all but this is what I am going to do."
Not only that but regardless of the "research" that you did you still acted irresponsibly by making the purchase without having adequate funds to properly get all the equipment needed. You have still never responded on whether or not you are using a thermostat or not. I must assume you are not and I am warning you you are going to cook your snake someday. All electronics fail and your snake will suffer from it.
As far as your feeding schedule I am going to tell you just like I mentioned to slipkorn in the previous thread. Skip the mice. They are a waste of time and not necassary. Start with rat hoppers adn move up from there. You want to minimize the number of switches you must make and it will be much easier on the both of you. Todd

I have to be honest I have read the series of messages that this person has posted in growing amazement at his ignorance for his ability to provide a suitable habitat for his burm. And since he doesnt/will NOT listen to anyone who actually knows how to PROPERLY take care of a burm I'm wasting my time, but why would you drop the temps of the complete cage to 78 degrees every night? How do you think he will digest his food? And by the way, your feeding schedule is amazingly little...do you plan to starve him so he wont grow too fast for you?
