I have a copy and the writing is fantastic. It is about 340 pages and it covers a vast amount of natural history as well as pull out maps , habitat pictures, tons of personal stories of field collecting and most importantly information about current game mangement .

This is a book every herper should (NEEDS) to read.

I would reccomend this book to people who are not even into snakes. YES its that good. Forget about the mountain kingsnake title. This is better than Carl Kaufelds books. It is extrtemly entertaining and I have not been able to put my copy down.

Buying the book at a show or a book signing may be your best bet. I ordered mine via mail, and have still not received it almost one month after the funds were taken from my checking account. When he says "three to six weeks for delivery", he means it. I guess six weeks is more common than three.

Kingaz,
The first print just came out less than four weeks ago. That is why it is taking so long. You sent the money in before the book was printed.

It's hard to hear all of these rave reviews for the book, and not be able to have it yet. Brian is still well within his advertised shipping time. I'm just impatient!

Please e-mail me if you do not receive it by this weekend. e-mail is tricolorbrian@hotmail.com The reason that it takes so long for personal checks is due to my travel schedule. I'm gone a lot for up to two weeks at a time. If your check arrives the day after I leave, then I don't see it until I return, and then it must sit in my account for 2 weeks after that before I send the book. If I go out of town again during that time period, well, you get the picture I think. It is much quicker if people send money orders. Those go out the same day I receive them. I hope you like the book.

And I like his discussion on the current herp laws and conservation. I think Bluerosy you are listed as finding a type specimen (was it in the San Gabriels?), correct? Very cool.
