There is a show that I think is held by the turtle and tortoise club of cali. I dont know if it is a sale show or not. I cant find any info so it may have passed.
There are shows that are held by the turtle and tortoise club, there is a couple of them. The biggest one took place this past Sunday, I wish I could have gone. It was supposed to be the biggest turtle show in the country. They don't sell any animals there only supplies. There are a lot of breeders that show up from what I have heard so it would still be a good place to get some contacts that can get you the turtles you are looking for.WE NEED MORE SHOWS!!!

Since that was the same weekend as NARBC, there may have been fewer turtle breeders from cali if they were going to the tortoise show. Or, the tortoise show may have been compromised so the vendors could attend the NARBC show. But yes, we need more turtle breeders. What day did you see the turtle breeder? I was at the show early so I dont know how well they did. I saw people walking around with his turtles but I was wondering if he sold out or came close and whatnot. Is there a strong market for turtles in Cali?
I don't think there were turtle breeders at the narbc expo, besides Turtling Pete and some of the guys from the turtle and tortoise club. I meant that a lot of breeders show up to the turtle shows held by the turtle club, thats what the people from the club told me. They should have made the turtle show a different weekend though. Most people going to the turtle show went to anaheim on Saturday and then to the turtle show on Sunday.

Well good luck in your search for turtles!
I believe the it was called "The 10th Annual Turtle and Tortoise Expo" It was on Sunday, September 12, 2004 which sucks cause that was the day i went to NARBC, plus it was way out in Carson. Also I heard they were not selling any cb turtles which kinda sucks. I would have loved to go. Since the majority of the market right now is snakes here in Cali I think there is huge room for Turtle breeders in California. I'm inthe stages of building a pond myself for water turtles and I have two California Desert Torts. We do need more shows in California, and they need to some how calender themsevles so they don't overlap each other. Probably the only smart thing to do so they can make more money. It weird, I think California has very lax laws for Reptiles to many other states with some exceptions. Hopefully more shows will come.

Shows are definately in my future. I used to have around forty snakes, I have sold some of those and am still selling whats left. A year ago I didnt have a single turtle, well ten months later and thousands of dollars worth of caging and supplies I now have 80 turtles, thank god more than half of them are hatchlings. I will be selling a lot of the hatchlings though. I want to start doing shows later next year. It looks like a lot of fun.
