Uro Wants to Eat a Blue Rug Juniper.

tjf-jr Jun 26, 2003 12:01 PM

Hi all. New to site & Uro's. Last week my son had his Uro out on the front porch where we have a blue rug juniper planted. His Uro got one look at the plant then took off after it, and started munching away. My son immediately stopped him and so far no adverse effects. My question is - Is this OK for him to eat? It's basically a small ground cover evergreen plant. Thanks for any info.

I don't remember reading whether or not it's ok. You might try Deer Fern Farms or try calling him. Also, Wendy is very knowledgable but haven't seen her around, so she might be a bit busy. Her and her husband's site is Scales.
Good luck

Juniper is not "okay" to eat but your Uro should be okay. It is mildly toxic in large quantities. I have read Uro's stomachs can take things ours cannot however. He should be fine. Of course, if you notice any negative symptoms bring him to a vet.
