"Clear Belly Balls"???

lovelyleopards Sep 16, 2004 12:21 AM

I am an admitted BP newbie - I've got 1.1 and had the male since February, the female since April. I've been seeing an ad in the classifieds for "clear belly balls" - they're two females and asking $500 each for them. Is this really an unusual trait? I have a CH '04 female that weighs in at 394 grams right now, and unless I'm missing something, her belly looks just like theirs. I'll post pics below. Someone clear me up if I'm missing something key here, or if the clear belly trait really isn't anything unusual. Thanks!

Clear bellies aren't incredibly rare but with so many known genetic morphs having clear bellies I decided to pick through some imports and found 2 out of about 60 myself. I think they are worth a premium just in case but it's probably not a huge premium given that it's a long shot that they are hets for some more striking homozygous form.
