I have been petsitting this iguana for about 6-9 months off and on. In the last 4 weeks or so, he has been going on this very aggressive rampage. He will try and bite and wip his tail at you. The owner of him and taken him to the vet and they just tell him that it was only suppose to last about 2 weeks or so, and well it has been almost 4. This Iguana is about 11 years old and both the owner and I are getting really frusterated with it. The ownere is in town most of the time, but goes away for about 3 days once a month. We know it is not the stress of the owner being gone because he has never done this in the past. Last night when I went to do my nightly vist he was on the floor (he has a cage, but also has free roam of the house, the house is Iguana proofed), very depressed and haden't eaten a lot. I called his owner and he had me look at his foot (he has been chewing on it a lot lately ever since the hormone kick), he had pulled off one of his toenail and his foot was very swollen. I tried to clean it the best I could, but he didn't like me for trying to help him. This morning I went back to feed and do my morning check, his spirts were a lot better, but still he had not eaten a lot. I again cleaned his foot. I was wondering what the owner and I can do to help him chewing on the foot and what we can do about the hormonol change. PLEASE HELP US.
