bearded salad(mustard greens bad?)

maclen Sep 16, 2004 03:53 PM

i usually mix equal parts of romain lettuce, collard greens, mustard greens. now that i know that romain isnt good for them(before i thought it was just iceburg) i replaced it with turnip greens. i also use about half of a carrot and some peas in a big batch of salad. my question is i read that mustard greens aren't good for a daily food staple because of hypterthyroidism is this true?? i always read mustard greens as part of the main salad ingredients. thanks

Never heard of this, could be a myth but then again I could be wrong. As far as I'm concerned, mustard greenks are an excellent staple food fot beardys. This site has an excellent list of good and bad foods in it, just scroll down to nutritional content:

Oh, and another thing, carrots aren't good for them, so cut back on them. Everyting else sounds pretty good.
