I have 2 male and 1 female dragon and thats why I split up the enclosure in two.
Two days ago I was cleaning up the water part and saw the guys playing games of who will be most dominant one.
The enclosure is split up but when they really want, they can go to the other part (I find out water dragons are smart)
So, I left to buy food for them and when I came back I saw one male in the wrong part of the enclosure.
His arm was turned backwards in a very uncomfortable way so my first reaction was to turn it back again and I called the vet right away.
Half an hour later the vet told me that the bone was broken and he'll put a tape around it. I did a great job when I turned back the arm because I did it in the right way. Of course I did,t know it, it was just a reaction but was happy to hear that.
Now, he must keep the tape around his arm for 2 weeks, no swimming and climbing
I feel so sorry for my poor guy!

Here's a picture of him with his arm in the tape

where on the arm was it broken? I once rescued a waterdragon from a petstore that had a broken arm and tape alone wasn't enough to set it. If it was the elbow that was dislocated or broken, you probably have a better chance.

Hai,
It was right above the elbow where it was broken.
He's doing well so far but in two weeks time I have to go back to the vet and I'm thinking of testing the blood for the calcium level.
Just to make sure.

im very sorry to see your dragon like that( Very beautiful though!).
My male chipped his elbow once a while ago. It grew a " double elbow"
I was told by my vet that this is what happens on joint fractures. The cartilidge surrounds the injury forming a "natural "cast. Then eventually it gets smaller and finally going away.

I was wondering if there was a similar swelling for a non joint fracture?

My vet told me there is indeed a swelling after a week or two.
Thats for the reptile to be mobile again.
The broken bone needs at least 3 months to cure.
