snake shedding

Snakeboy123 Sep 16, 2004 07:11 PM

Hi I was just wondering how often a king snake will shed? I understand that it will be more often whenit is young and growning. My snake is about 18" and is a desert phase banded. Thanks

Is it normal for them to not eat and hide while shedding cause I think it was about a month ago when he first shed his skin, and he has been hiding for about 2 days now. Thanks.

Yes it's normal. Shedding is an 'uncomfortable/vulnerable' time for them. Their activity and feeding often decrease during this time. I think it best to leave them alone until the shed is complete.
