Eastern Milk Snake, Advice needed

Gawani05 Sep 16, 2004 08:49 PM

My grandpa found a really young eastern milk snake today, I asked if I could keep him, I have him in an aquarium at the moment, and I was wondering if they are friendly, if they are aggressive, what do they eat, would he make a good pet, or should I just let him go, I've always wanted a snake, and he's so cute and so beautiful, looks exactly like this. http://www.kbs.msu.edu/ACWA/natres/natrgrh/snakes/emilk.jpg

I'd appreciate any help, thanks!!

When they are small they feed mainly on snakes, but will also eat salamanders, frogs, mouse parts. They can be aggressive or friendly. When small they are difficult for most people to manage, they can't eat whole pinky mice for about 6 months to a year after hatching. I've heard of people feeding them pinky heads until they are big enough for wholes, but I just kept them on a diet of snakes their whole lives.
