gurnham4 Sep 16, 2004 11:04 PM

anyone know any calcium for juvies without D3? can't you buy calicum at like CVS and grind it up and give it to them? my vet discouraged keeping the calicum in her cage b/c mine had D3

should i just leave a dish of herptivite in the cage? the vet didn't say it was a good idea to leave it in either

I thought it was good for them, it helped them digest it better.

is a vitamin supplement that should only be given once a month or every few weeks, Repcal without D3 can be left in the cage in a small dish, repcal WITH D3 should be used for dusting the insects being fed to your geckos

the D3 helps them absorbe the calcium

I heard D3 was good, but can be toxic in high levels. Maybe thats why someone on a previous post recommended leaving calcium without D3 in the cage always, and only dusting with the calcium with D3. Also, you can leave calcium (without D3) in with your gecko, they will eat it when they need it.
