Isis got her stitches out today...

sunfox Sep 17, 2004 10:49 AM

and boy was she squirmy too! She looks a lot better for it, her energy level is through the roof!

Here's a pic of the scar from the surgery. The scales that are sticking out will eventually drop off and her belly will be smooth again but she will have a permanent scar. She is doing great

Wow! That's a big incision!! She looks good, though. And she sure is lucky to have you for a lizard mom!

i am so happy that she is doing well. i know you mentioned something about puttin her on substrate once she got the stiches out but maybe you should wait a little longer to make sure that the wound is sealed enough? helga only has toes falling off and my vet said to take her off subsrtate because it could irritate and cause infections. just a suggestion but i am sure you have talked about it with your vet

Thanks all

The vet did mention to give her another week just to be sure. I plan to introduce Isis to Ra next Friday or Saturday (I've got 3 days off from work so I can keep an eye on them to check for aggressive behaviour) in their 125-gallon tank. I don't think I'll be finished making the background yet but that can always be added later. Isis will love the extra room and Ra will probably see Isis as a moving basking rock

I'll post pics of the enclosure as soon as I get it set up.
