On the Calcium/D3 topic...

Buddy25 Sep 17, 2004 03:30 PM

Ok, so I recently bought my leo(Baby, or juvy), and I bought herpitive Calcium with D3. Rhachodactylus you said feed him that once a month or every few weeks!?

I've read the wrong stuff. On Dr.Gecko it says pure calcium offered 2 times per week(So, I dust crickets in shaved cuttlebine twice a week)... CALCIUM WITH D3 twice a week(So I dusted twice a week), and a multivitamin once a week?

I just want the best for my baby.

For a baby, dust with D3 calcium for every feeding, and a multivitamin once every week. It's not really necessary to leave a dish of calcium in the cage at this point. As he grows, you can gradually reduce the calcium to every other feeding, and then when he's an adult, just once a week for calcium, multivitamin once every week or two.

I feed my babies dusted mealworms, so technically they always have a bowl full of leftover calcium in their enclosure. It's not until I start reducing the calcium dusting that I'll leave a separate dish of calcium so they can regulate their own intake.
