Yeah, at 3 1/2 feet that cali is an adult and needs 1 full grown adult mouse per week. My cali will eat 2-3 full grown adult mice a week if I let him and he is only 34 inches long at a few months over a year old! I feed him one adult and 3 days later he is looking for more..he would actually eat 2 per sitting if I let him!
Only thing about this guy is when I place him in the plastic feeding container he associates it with food so I definately need to watch my fingers as he goes into a super feeding frenzy. He has nailed me twice already but he lets go as soon as he realizes I am not a meal.. I even wash my hands and everything else and when I reach my hand in to pick him up is when the movement gets him going again and sometimes I will get tagged...lol.. My corn snake just eats and then lets me pick her up and put her back no problems..my juvi yellow rat snake will vibrate his tail at me..haha cute.

I only posted that PIC because me and my friends were talking about raising our own mice. I have been feeding him 1 a week and he is not getting as big as I want him. Would 2 a week be OK?

If you have the mice, I'd say feed him more, especially if he's looking for more after just one mouse. He'll stop eating when he's full.
You can feed him 2 mice a week but once they stop putting most of their growth into length they can get fat. Cal Kings simply dont get as big as the Eastern varities with 3-4' being the average. Yeah they can get to 5' but thats not the norm. As to the comment below to feed him as much as they want I wouldnt go that far maybe with a juvenile or a yearling but not a 3' plus animal but 1-2 mice would be okay every week.
