Mealworms

snkeyes Sep 17, 2004 06:00 PM

I just ordered 1000 mealworms from grubco.com. I was surprised because they only came in a felt bag...so substrate, no container, just 1000.00 worms and newspaper. I have since moved them to a tupeware container...what do I need to put in there with them? anything?

thanks guys

put them in a tupperware container with substrate.. most people use oats or bran, along with food. A carrot and maybe 1/2 a potato. Make sure that you remove and replace the food every day. If it starts to mold, things will get stinky and your worms could die.

Same thing happened to me. Just take some dry dog food, flour, corn meal and anything else you can find and out it in the blender. If you don't have any dog food than just put the other stuff together. Feed them lettuce along with the mix of four etc. Make sure you replace it often though. Hope this helps.
