Although I've kept reptiles (mostly snakes) for close to 20 years, I'm a real novice when it comes to turtles and tortoises. I recently rescued two turtles, one of which is supposedly a Greek Tortoise (Testudo graeca) and the other one is supposedly a Russian Tortoise (Testudo horsfieldii). Since they both look very similar to me I was wondering if there are any observable and defining differences between the two species that make identification certain? Thanks for the help.
