Retic seems to be uninterested in eating a fuzzy rat....Any suggestions? (long post- sorry)

Hi,

I have a question, I just got a female albino retic alittle more than a week ago and she doesn't seem to be interested at all in the fuzzy rat that I provide for her. She's about three months old and no bigger than 2.5 to 3 feet. For the last three days I've been dangling the fuzzy over her head, gently tapping it on her body, leaving it over night, and supervising a live fuzzy in her enclosure. When I leave the pre-killed fuzzy in the enclosure she keeps her distance and when I tap her with it she "Taps" -(pushes the fuzzy away with force as if she's angry) -the fuzzy rat away. The temperature (using a heat pad) on the cooler side is about 79-80 degrees and the heated end is about 90-96 *there is a quarter sized area on the heated end that measures to 102 degrees, and I'm trying to fix that. I keep her in a rubbermaid with moss for humidity and two hide spots on both the cool and hot end. I'm not too worried or distraught, but this is the first snake that I've spent a couple thousand on : ) and I'm alittle concerned. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks to all and have a great weekend.

-Darryl

P.S. SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.

First thing, your hot side is way too hot. Lower it before he gets cooked! Ambient temp in the mid 80's is good. Baby retics all take mice or rat pups so if it won't take a rat pup try a mouse. Where ever you bought it I would check with them to see what it was taking for them.

Hi,

My female Albino ignores the F/T adult mouse just as she did the Fuzzy Rat. I don't want to try it, but should I try a live mouse??? Thanks again.
