Just got done with spot. Per the vets suggestions she has been moved to a glass enclosure. We have obtained 2 glass enclosures and one will be bleached and cleaned everyday. This way while one is being bleached and cleaned she can live in the other. The Zoomed Mite stuff was a joke and I transferred to the bird mite spray. The vet told be that birds are a lot more fragile than iguanas so the spray would be fine but keep it away from the head. So far I have noticed the new spray kills on contact. Spot is not being force-fed several times a day using blended up mustard greens, Collard Greens and Tofu with a little water. The vet said to use the Tofu. Have any of you heard of using this before? She also got a new reptisun 5.0 bulb today but unfortunately the wrong size for my fixture. She will be spending several hours a day outside in her new outdoor enclosure and her big indoor enclosure will not be used until the mite removal process is done. The vet said she thinks spot will be just fine we just need to fatten her up and get control over the mites. Since I am not an expert in reptile health if any of this sounds funny to you please let me know. The Tofu definitely sounds funny to me but she is the one with the degree in veterinary care not me. With her spraying and soaking I have observed what looked to be about 300,000 mites just fall off in the bathtub. Unfortunately I have some business to attend and will be leaving town headed for the bush tomorrow night and will not return until Tuesday night. Fortunately my wify will be home and can handle most of the order set forth by the vet. Some more good news is she is readily taking the blended food. I thought it would be a fight with her but once I get her mouth opened she gobbles it up with no complaint. I will continue to keep everyone up to date. Thanks a million for all the help.
