OK, thanks to both of you. it's been awhile since she has been eating veggies and as I put some in her cage it hit me...OK, she'll get some asparagus instead, LOL!

Kale and spinach both bind calcium. Iceberg lettuce is also worthless.

Some things I have heard to feed the crix are:
broccoli, alfalfa, apples, banana skins, yams, yellow squash, zucchini, mustard greens, carrots, collard greens, and romaine lettuce.

So i guess you could try giving these right to your cham too. Although I'd stick with the leafy greens. I don't know that'd they eat fruit-like stuff, or banana skins.

To one of the above posts, I just bought a bunch of kale. It was on a list I got from somewhere. Guess I'll be having myself quite the salad.

...there is someone on this forum who said his panther was eating a plant sometimes, but it is only veiled's who regularly (well, like kids it depends on each - lol!) eat veggies. here's an article and list that might be helpful

I don't think I knew that about kale. Actually I thought it was one that was regularly offered and as a matter of fact Luna loved it when she was younger. Yeah iceberg lettuce is only good as a source for water since it is 99% h2o!

thanks,

Hi.

What is the best way to offer greens (in terms of presentation)? Chopped? Whole? On the cage floor? Hanging?

Thanks,
Mike
