shipping mangrove snakes

SPJ01 Sep 18, 2004 08:28 PM

Why do these have to go thru the airlines but FWC and hognose can go thru overnight carriers?

Exactly!
You were thinking the same exact thing as I was. I have been dying to get a mangrove for sometime now, but the fact that most were WC, unpleasent adults, I wasn't too enthusiastic about going out and getting them. And when I finally get the oppertunity to get a nice cb baby for only 65 dollars, the shipping has to be like 92!!
I get that they are more venomous than lets say a hognose, but I have done research on them and although every body reacts differently, they're not exactly what you would call deadly.

That's what I was thinking.
Why is this the exception?
Whenever there are import adults available, they are shipped overnight but I don't want to take a chance with an import.
Now that I see CB babies for sale, I was all set to buy but when you add the cost of the snake, the shipping, the box charge, and the fact that I have a 2 hour drive each way to the airport, it just seems absurd to deal with the expense and hassle for a baby mangrove.
I just don't see why these need to be shipped this way but a FWC or various hognose species get shipped overnight all the time.

yep yep, it's all the same and sucks....
I don wanna pay 65 92 for shipping the trip to the airport.
Since you have to drive two hours both ways, your looking to pay about 200 dollars with everything(gas too) included, plus all the hassle and time..

Yep. Too much for me.
I might as well just wait until the Hamburg show. I was planning on getting some hots there so I might as well keep an eye out for some baby mangroves.

Yeah, me too. Although they don't regularly have mangs, they might cause last time I saw cb Kings on classifieds, they also had em at the show which was a first. I hope I can get a nice little pair or even a single cb juvie or baby. Maybe we can meet up?
