What are the husbandry issues with the animal? Type of enclosure? High traffic or quiet location? Temp's Humidity? How long have you had the animal? If you just recently acquired the carpet I would just leave it alone for at least a week in a nice quiet location to let it settle in. Carpets, even right out of the egg will prefer a fuzzy to a pinky. I would wait until dust/night time to feed the animal. I have never had problems feeding any of my carpet pythons frozen thawed rodents but if necessary you can use live fuzzies and try to switch to frozen thawed once the animal is on a regular feeding regime. If it has only been a few weeks without eating I would not worry too much. Just let the little guy settle in and do not try to feed every day. If he/she does not eat when offered I would wait at least a few days before trying again or you'll just stress the animal even more. First just make sure the animal has a nice quiet location with good temp's (at least low 80's) and plenty of hide spots and you should not have any trouble. Good luck and keep us posted.
