My snake regurged help please

msubigdawg Sep 18, 2004 10:29 PM

My snake is about 3 months old or a lil more. I fed her 2 small mice on friday 2 weeks ago and she regurged 5 days later. I live in a dorm and I got a bass amp and I was playin it on the day she regurged. Do you think the bass did it since its so low and causes vibrations? Or could it be just too large of a meal and she decided to throw it up 5 days later. I am figuring the bass did it. How long till I feed her again? This is the first one of my snakes to regurge.

Do not feed for at least 14 days or longer after regurgitation. (absolutely necessary)After 14 days try feeding a very small prey item (1 to 2 day old pinky rat for boa neonates)and wait for at least 10 days before the next feeding (again with a very small prey item)For normal feedings the prey item for any boa should not be any bigger that the widest part of its body.I feed all my boa neonates one appropriate size prey item every 7 to 10 days. All my older boas are feed one appropriate size prey item every 14 to 18 days. The only exceptions are my big adult female they are feed two large rats. These are female boas that are over 30 lb. Also you should not handle your boa 2 to 3 days after any feeding.

I am not sure but I would think your bass may be stressing your boa out from the vibrations. You may want to practice some where else or at lest have you practice sessions shorter.I however would not play your bass around your boa until it is eating normal again.

Take care
Tom
