I can not believe you would even ask a question like that. The snout to vent is as big as the reptlie is. I believe you need to buy the book before you buy the animal. Animals grow at different rates just like people do.
Im not asking what SVL MEANS u tard
im asking what a veiled chameleons AVERAGE svl
i mean there is always an average u jacka$$
LordofTheRetards being a novice and asking for help you first NEED to buy a book and read it or do some research on the net. The questions you ask are all elementry and easily found IF YOU LOOK FOR THEM! Your response to Scott202 is both rude and disrespectful. I can't imagine anyone wanting to help someone that won't help themselves and do a little reading.
Stephanie
If I'm not mistaken, this is a place where people who want answers to questions they might have can go and "LOOK FOR THEM," right? Everybody starts somewhere, and we were all beginners at one point and to [bleep] at him for "asking for help" and "being a novice" is insanely immature.
God forbid somebody ask for information and help about chameleons in a chameleon forum, huh?! And what nerve you have, LordoftheLizards, for being a beginner! Jesus Christ, people! Give him a friggin break, all he did was quesiton that could have been answered in 10 words or less and all you guys can do is go ape [bleep], basically because he's new to the species. It would have taken you less time and energy just to answer the guy!
Just grow up, the both of you. No need for your assh*le behavior here. There was absolutely no need to respond to his post if you didn't have an answer for him. Yes these sort questions and other similar questions are asked everyday by novice keepers, but so what?
"Proper Lighting?" "Where to get worms?" "HELP! CHAME NOT DRINKING!!!!!" Who cares. They come to this place for help, and it's pointless not to help them. "Go get a book" ? Maybe they already have and need more information. And saying that with out giving any additional help is just a waste of your time and the person who posted the question's time.
And to answer your question, LordofTheLizards, it's about 4" to 5.5". I've seen wild caught males at shows that looked to be about 6", but the average in captivity is around 5. Veileds don't reach they're maximum length in captivity, usually.
Now everybody just calm the f**k down.
Thanks Jon, I agree with you. There was another post addressing such negativity, but apparently it was taken down. I see no reason why, as it was a civil conversation, unlike this string of posts.
"Im not asking what SVL MEANS u tard

Both of you fail to seE that "Lord" started name calling! Nothing Scott said was degrading at all. If someone wants to have a civil discusssion they sure aren't going to get it calling someone a "tard" or a "jacka$$". If anyone is to blame for the the lack of be civil it is "lord"! Not only that have you read some of this guys posts? Asking if chameleons have third eyes!! Obviously he has never done ANY reasearch or seen a picture of a chameleon! Just pick up a book Lord and read a bit THEN ask the questions.
Stephanie
Lol Mel I bet someone jumped on that thread and added some vulgarity or something... that thread was just an expression of opinions, I saw no reason for it being taken down besides the fact it had nothing to do with chams really (it was invoved with keepers).

I myself am a newbie in cham keeping and I have read alot of books, however in this business books become outdated really fast. There is nothing wrong with posting a question to get several different opinions on a certain subjects.
