Holy crap!!!! What are you feeding this thing, how often, etc etc etc, give feeding details?? I have alligator snappers and they seem to grow very slowly but i am curious what you are doing. Do you have a pic of the set up?

Good luck!

He is a common snapper, his growth isn't extreme for a common. He eat 3 times a week as much as will fit in his head. He main diet is mazuri, he eats greens but not readily for last couple of months. I feed him a varity of other thinsg liek earth worms, blood worms, red roseys, minnows, fruits and veggies, meal worms, crickters ect...
He live in a 150 gallon rubbermaid stock tank I can post pics later
Thanks

I could be wrong, but that apears to be a southern snapper, not a alligator snapper, which would also explain the growth.
Alligator snappers, have a very limited range, and are not nearly as common in the hobby, they also grow much slower.
I commonly here stories of "alligator snappers "in ohio,Nc, Sc,mich, these are common or northern snappers, sorry to dissapoint you, alligator snappers home range is louisiana, okeefenokee are of georgia, swanee river in Florida, and bordering areas.

very cool! I love seeing how fast snappers grow. Is that a northern common or a florida snapper? Very nice coloration though. It just reminds me of mine, since mine started out about the size of yours and 2 1/2 years later its now over 9" shell length. They are my favorite turtle.

My female common grew at about the same rate. She is now 9 years old, with an 11 inch carapace. The growth rate will slow down after about the 4th or 5th year. Males grow larger than females. Nice turtle!
