Hay for bedding

Joeycoco98 Sep 19, 2004 01:36 PM

Being that I live here in Texas, I can get hay for 4 dollars a bushel. Is there a reason why I should not use hey in my snake enclosures?

Thanks,
Miller

A) you will import all the little critters that live in the hay B) spot cleaning will be difficult because of the length of the hay and C) dust can/will become a health hazard.have fun!

mites!!!!!!!!!

I figured mites would be the biggest concern. I have only dealt with them once back in the eighties. The snake already had them when I got him.

Thx,
Miller
