great thanks, btw any idea on the size it could get?
mexicans and other centrals usually top out at about 4-6 feet. My sonoran female is just about huge at almost 6'.

by the colours of the tail it could be central american like Nic.So many localities crossbreed has been done that it becomes impossible to say .More,in each of true localities litters some babies are out of the standart compare to the rest of the litter. For the size, if it is a female on a normal feeding (each 12 days on a pray that will not deformed the bodie) no more than 1,7 m .
I am almost 100% sure it is a Coasta Rican, by the color and pattern, I have a similar looking one in my collection that was directly imported from C.R.
good looking snake by the way

All the Rican`s I`ve seen have a much more insular look overall as well as RED,RED,RED and more R E D !! Saddles, medallions etc. Some have that deep olive color base but most are a rusty red tone.
I have some pics of some pure Costa Rican`s(both male/female) and they also look nothing like whats been posted.
If I had permission from the owner I would glady post them.
Gus posted a pic last month of a Rican he has, maybe he`ll post it again ??

very from coastal to high up in the mountains, the ones from the mountains are a blacker, darker red look and the coastals have that greenish color to them and the mid lands look like the one in question. I am not saying it IS a C.R. I just feel pretty sure it is, by the looks.
and cmparative to some of the ones I have.
Here is a coastal C.R. pic.
nick

Thats a very clean snake !
I was sent a pic of a coastal that showed more red down the sides, would it be an in between/elevation transition haveing the deeper red etc like the mountain variant or possibly a cross between the two locales ?Do you have a pic of this "blacker" you speak of,or a reference to it ?I would like to see all the general variants with their respective regions noted.
Intresting. . . .. .. .

Yeah I may be able to get a pic of her today, if she is in a good mood, plus she is an imporessive 8 feet long.
I'll try and get some pics done today.
Nick
It's definitely a central of some kind, but it could be anything from Mexico to Columbia. What info do you have? or was it a Petco special? I am going to officially guess Northwest Panama.
