Hi this is about feeding again mainly to Toddbecker

Hi, as far as the small rat every 5 days...No way!, no offence but my burm is about an inch thick at thickest part and can barely take a large mouse.. I will wait until 42" before he gets a small rat...Also thanks about the every 3 days advise...should i offer him 2 mice instead , If so how would I do this?

As for the online buying...I can't i do not have enough money to buy bulk, I'd rather just go to the pet store every week, I like it there anyway(lol) Thanks,
Jake

Feeding multiple prey at a time will suffice. The easiest way to do this is to feed teh first as you would normally. Then just as your snake is taking the last swallow and sucking the tail down, simply place the head of the 2nd prey item (I am assuming you are feeding fresh killed) into the snakes mouth. This is pretty easy as the snake usually keeps it mouth open pretty wide as they make the final gulp. They will almost always grab a hold of the 2nd item and continue on swallowing. Hope this helps a little. Todd

Just thought i'd chime in and say most snakes will take any prey that is 1 to 1 1/2 times their body girth without endangering themselves. Also my three burms sound to be around the same size and if i don't have small rats I feed them 3 or 4 hopper mice at a time and i don't have to "follow feed" them. Burms can be bottomless pits and will strike multiple times every feeding. good luck.
