Whats this spirulina powder I read about?

whodatfoolbe Jun 26, 2003 04:53 PM

I just read a post that was saying to put spirulina powder on insects to give them a green color, so chams would eat them, but how is this stuff? I looked it up and it said is was algae with tons of protein, but is it safe for chams? Please let me know, I have a fussy eater and this could help alot, but I'll only use it if other people have had good experiences with it!

Correct, it is dried algae. It hasn't hurt any chams that I've heard, in fact some gutloads include it. Find it at health food stores. You can also grind up dried peas and sprinkle the green powder on bugs.

you could also use Vita-rep A it is dark green and it has beta carotiene (sp?) which increase chams color and you can not overdose with it...
