What species of Toads are we?

One has some red...the other none..

Is this species found in the California desert? If so....what type of captive habitat do they need?

Also...the patterning on them looks so different, one of them has red dots/splotches on it, the other one is just green...the pic isn't that good.

Hey,

K well actually they could be any of the western toads (3 subspecies includeing California Toad). They breed January to September in the wild in still water. Males have a pale throat. In the wild they live near streams, meadows and woodlands. Id use peat moss as they lke to dig and make burrows. Hope this helps Goodluck.

Thanks for the info.

I must have 2 different subspecies...one has red/black "warts" and the other has green/black. Both look all white underneath.

They are eating well...pinkies disappear into thin air.
