Lighting and other questions

SilentWaste Sep 19, 2004 10:24 PM

Hey, what is up everyone. Two days ago I bought a Sorong, which I must say is amazing. My only other snake holdings have been with my Pueblan Milk Snake. So I am new to this world. So, when I bought it the place told me the cage I got with it is a perfect setup. Everything I agree with, although I am skeptical with the whole light in the cage. My GTP hasn't ventured to it yet, but I am still a little worried with the light in the tank. Should I be fine or should I find another light setup? Here is a pic of my tank in the pic below. Any other changes or ideas please post I am very new to this.

You should have some kind og guard there, definitlet. If you cant do this, I'd suggest a radiant heat panel. Is this only your second snake?

Get "The Complete Chondro", its a must have for any owner.

Ok thanks, ya this is only my second snake...this a bad thing when it comes to GTP's? I was told as long as you know how to keep humitity levels your fine (it is my second snake, but I have owned about 20 different reptiles in my life).

It may just be the pic, but it looks to me like your chondro is much older than 4 months. What is it feeding on? I have 4 month olds that are feeding on med. size fuzzies.....and I would consider that a large for a 4 month old. I just happen to have a bloodline that feeds well and grows like grass in April.
