Right now I have four leos in a fourty gal that I designed as a two story. I have a 50 watt heat lamp on the screen lid (it's low wattage because it's summer and the second story is closer to the light) and a uv strip I dug outta my garage and hooked up to a timer (I know they don't need it). Most of the time my leos are hiding under the second story during the day where it's dark but the heat stays on top. I designed the second story to make the first feel more undergroundish. In the wild they go under ground to cool off during the day. But they are always dark and cool to the touch until night time. So here's my question. Should I hook up a low wattage uth on the warm side to warm the bottom story or leave it cool so its more natural for them. Or should I remove the UV strip so they are more likely to come out if its not so bright? I'm a little conserned since winter is comming and I don't want them to get too cold hiding out down there. Thanks in advance!
Emily
