Check with the airline, you might be able to take them with you on the plane. I'm in Canada and I'm pretty sure you can carry-on small contained animals, though I'm not sure about over the border.

I've read up on Air Canada's website and it said that Reptiles are not alot in the passenger unit.

So, it's either shipping by post or possibly paying a cargo fee so that they can ride down below with my luggage. Any ideas on what qualifications your Leos need to meet? Do they need to be vet certified? I'll end up calling the airport shortly to ask as well. Thanks.

From my experence shipping to canada is an iffy thing! I was planning to have a gecko shipped up from california, to vancouver. But when i did some research into border regulations all I got was info saying that there "arent any" rules on reptiles, only turtles. so i was like, ok..so if there arent any rules...then can i bring them across or cant i...

I called the Peach Arch border and they told me that I would have to have a certificate of helth and I should be fine...they think, but nobody seemed to be very sure about it, they all asked what type of reptile it was, and then they had no clue what a leopard gecko is, so basically I got nowhere and ended up pulling out of adopting the gecko because i wasnt going to be the one getting her across the border anyways, it would have been the fedex guy.

My advice would be to call the place they would have to cross, and ask very specific questions, and dont just settle for a general response. make sure they know what a leo is, and that you can't be turned away! then take down the name and job title of the person who helped you, just incase someone challenges it.

Where abouts are you moving to? things could be different depending on where you go!

Hey!

Thanks for that info, it's very helpful! I'm moving to New Brunswick Canada from here in Texas. The geckos will be shipped overnight-- It's going to cost alot, but I'm more then willing to pay for it. Also, I read up like you did before, CITES did not list Leopard Geckos as a protected species and I still need to call the post office to ask other questions. Basically, I'm traveling by plane and my parents will ship them for me(I'll have everything set up), the next day. It's kind of frustrating, lol. Thanks again.
