WTF quarintine

twee Sep 20, 2004 06:50 AM

I have recently accuired a second Australian baby whites tree frog, who is the most adorable thing I have ever seen. He will eventually be residing with my other baby australian Whites In my 30 gallon tank. I have had him for one night, and that has been spent in a smaller quarintine cage. He seems to be doing fine. I havnt found any fecies yet, but I think he is just getting used to his new temporary home. How ling should I keep him in quarintine, though?

Really? That seems like a long time. I own a leopard gecko, too, and its not that long. Why would it take that long? I'm just a beginner when it comes to amphibians, please forgive my stupidity.

no need to apoligize, amphibians especially tree frogs can go months with out appearing sick, but may actually have something wrong, and it can be spread to your current collection.

Allright. I'll keep him in there for a month. I want to keep it to a minimum because although he's a baby, he is still in a pritty small inclosure. Its one of those plastic ones turned in its side. Its 7 gallons max. I'm guessing 5 gallons, but I'm not sure. I may have to go buy a bigger one. What do you think?
