mchambers Sep 20, 2004 08:02 AM

what does flagyl treat in snakes. How important is the correct dosage pertaining to body weight. There is conflict on how to administor liquid suspension of flagyl either by oral or injected to feed item then fed to reptile.

Thanks in advance.

Its an antibiotic that is effective in treating protozoan such as amoeba's and Flagellates.

Proper dosing is very improtant, too little can create a higher resistant problem, too much can cause kidney problems.

Also, when using it you have to consider what protozoan you are treating it for and the life cycle of that.
