Question about my genetic striper... breeder?

liquidleaf Sep 20, 2004 10:26 AM

I obtained a 4 year old genetically striped columbian male yesterday at the WNY Herp show - he's a beauty! The guy I bought him from told me that he was bred by someone down south from two wild caught striped boas who passed the trait to their offspring (of course in my excitement over having a new snake I promptly forgot most of the info he gave me - should've written it down!) - the only thing I can remember is that the breeder had a site called weirdsnakes.com - but that must not be completely correct because nothing comes up at that URL. Any ideas as to who the breeder is? Just curious... damn my short term memory! Thanks.

is the stripe on the back or on the sides like this guy in the pic?
I'm in Florida and may know where it came from if you had a pic or better discription. send me a pic or email me I may be able to help.

here it is , this is a codominant gene known as the tiger boas, this guy is fully without saddles so he is a super tiger boa could be dominant, will know after this year.

His name was on the tip of my tongue for about 15 minutes, so I did a search on google for just weirdsnakes, and turned up his full name...Tony Basica and the URL is something like weirdsnakes.itgo.com/ If that doesn't work just do the same search I did and it will come up for you. And last I remember he is in Florida. Hope this helps, take care! He used to be somewhat regular on kingsnake.com

Sorry I wasn't more specific. The stripe is partial and on the back of the boa (like a zig zag of connected saddles). But Tony Basica was the name! Thanks so much. I've got to write things down... I'll post a pic of my new guy as soon as he gets done with his shed. It's so cool to have a bigger columbian since I'm used to my yearling ball python and my 3 year old (very small) hog island male. Oh yeah, I'm addicted! Thanks for all your help.
