Indian Tent Turtle

Does anyone know if Indian Tent Turtles (kechuga smithii?) are ever available for sale? As a kid in 1968 I remember going to Hermosa Reptiles in Hermosa Beach, CA and thinking they were the most beautiful turtles I had ever seen. I was in 8th grade at the time and couldn't afford the $35 they were asking for one. Another memory I have is going there and seeing literally 100's of Podoc Unifilis hatchlings for 1.98 each!!!!!

Sorry but the correct scientific name for the turtle I was referring to is Kachuga tentoria. The ones I saw were juveniles with a beautiful green and black shell with what I remember where pink and yellow stripes or or spots.

Thats funny, I worked there that year, or the year before. Chuck McClung was managing the store for Ray. I met some lifelong friends there.

A couple of the fellas I met there, started a store of their own, not far away. It was called, Mother Natures. Kinda Funny. FR
